                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AMENDMENT NO. 12 TO
                   THE AGREEMENT WITH DENNIS W. SMITH RELATIVE TO
                   INSPECTION SERVICES ON EXISTING CONTRACTS,
                   INCLUDING CONTRACT NO. 73A-2, BIG RIDGE
                   COLLECTOR SEWERS II, TO DO ADDITIONAL WORK, TO
                   EXTEND THE TIME OF COMPLETION AND TO PROVIDE
                   FOR AN ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATION NOT TO EXCEED
                   THIRTY THOUSAND AND 00/100 DOLLARS
                   ($30,000.00).

              	   BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
         CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby authorized
         Amendment No. 12 to the Agreement with Dennis W. Smith relative 

         to inspection services on existing contracts, including 
Contract
         No. 73A-2, Big Ridge Collector Sewers II, to extend the 
contract
         for a period of six (6) months, due to delayed decisions
         regarding the fate of the endangered mountain skull cap plant,
         additional design work and delayed easement procurements, and 
to
         increase the consideration by an amount not to exceed
         $30,000.00.
